If the lead is expired, it is important to get rid of the lead. It will not be effective as an insurance lead if it is expired. After the list has been cleared of expired insurance leads, further evaluations can be performed. It is important to look at the cost of the product or service as opposed to the income of the lead or the amount of money that the lead feels they could spend on the insurance each month or year. The best insurance lead will be one that offers the individual something that they need or want, and which they can also afford.

Once these steps are taken care of, the individual who is examining the potential leads can determine which products or services would make him or her the most money if they are sold. It is a good idea to start with these insurance leads, since they will be the most economically beneficial leads to land on the part of the representative. Representatives will also want to work with leads that have a lot of different possibilities. For example, there may be a lead where the person could benefit from more than one service or good that the representative has to offer. This can be a great time to work in a sort of special or deal for leads that end up turning into multiple selling success stories.
